Open to children ages 3.5 and 5, the Plover Program will help your children work towards the social, physical, and academic skills they will need for Kindergarten and beyond.

A combination of free-play time and group activities and discussions allow the children to practice the social readiness skills necessary to begin Kindergarten with a positive self-image. Fun themes (seasons, weather, holidays, feelings, etc.) will be incorporated throughout the year to make foundational learning outcomes that much more relatable and memorable. There will also be weekly scheduled time for music, art, gym, and outdoor exploration, a key piece to teaching the whole-child.

Our program respects the uniqueness of each child and their family and works together with all our families to provide children with an experience that fosters a lifelong love of learning, while allowing children to play, learn and grow at their own pace.

Students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with a waitlist taken should we exceed our maximum headcount of 15.

Scarborough Community Services welcomes new and past campers to Summer Day Camp 2024. Camp is open to any Scarborough resident child entering Grades K through 6 in the fall. We are looking forward to providing a safe environment where everyone can make new friends, explore and develop new skills, and simply have lots of fun! Art and gym activities, theme programming, field trips, and more will take place throughout the summer.

Summer Day Camp is located in the Wentworth School for Grades K-6. Parents/guardians will need to enter the building for check in and check out each day.

Camp runs from June 24 through August 9 (total of 7 weeks). An additional 4-day week (Week 8) will be available to those who registered for all seven weeks but will be limited in enrollment as it will be located under a tent. All weeks are 5-day weeks except for the weeks of 7/1 and 8/12.

Camp runs 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. Parents may utilize the span of camp hours with no additional charge; however, please be aware that children will not be with their specific group during the early morning hours or later evening hours. Programming specific to groups typically runs 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Maximum camper headcount will be kept conservative to reflect the level of staffing we have confirmed for Summer 2024. Once we have hit that number, we will begin a waitlist. If we are able to secure more staff as we get closer to the start date of the program, we will work with waitlisted families to complete the registration process.
